Recap | AI as a Growth Engine for Go-Global Brands — Hangzhou Open Day

Unique Research · Recap · June 28, 2024

On June 27, Unique Research co-hosted A New Engine for Going Global: How AI Powers International Expansion in Hangzhou with the Cuiyuan Subdistrict Office (Xihu District) and Yuanqi Wensan Metaverse Industry Innovation Center. Three AI × go-global practitioners shared cases and joined a roundtable Q&A: Guo Chenlu, co-founder & CEO of Shulex; Le Cheng, founder & CEO of Tekan (特看科技); and Wang Qing, founder & CEO of Boolv (布尔向量).

Shulex — AI customer service + consumer insight

Guo framed customer-experience management as entering an “AI First” era. Applied well, the stack can lift labor efficiency by up to ~50%; today’s service bots already reach a junior-agent baseline. Using Shulex brand deployments, he walked through AI customer service and consumer-insight landing. His core thesis: a company’s most durable asset is its own data — whatever happens to foundation models, proprietary data remains unique. Shulex’s logic: service and bots at the center, product and market monitoring as support — great service, listen to users.

Tekan — AI video generation × commercialization abroad

Le Cheng offered three go-global frames: (1) a “time machine” — what TikTok shows now often happened on Douyin years earlier, so domestic playbooks can be replayed overseas; (2) China as a whetstone for technology, while products must be global from day one; (3) overseas AI apps need the triad of strong foundation models, concrete scenarios, and unique data. Tekan’s loop: pull scripts and frames from hit videos (MP4 → text), have LLMs learn the scripts, regenerate with brand assets, distribute across channels, and feed engagement data back into iteration.

Boolv — AIGC across the content chain

Wang stressed that overseas distribution differs from China. Domestically, growth leans on paid ads and private-domain ops; abroad the three pillars are SEO, social, and ads — with content as the common layer. Boolv positions AIGC across the full chain: content understanding → asset processing → matching → generation → data feedback.

Roundtable

Le Cheng, Wang Qing, and Shulex CX specialist Yang Qirui (Stanley) compared U.S. vs. China AI commercial ecosystems, common mistakes Chinese firms make applying AI abroad, and how humans stay complementary rather than replaced. Attendees rated the session highly; Unique Research said it will keep co-building with ecosystem partners to help Chinese AI founders win commercially.
